  • The chilling (and very karmic) thing about this is that he ended up getting caught in a country where the prisons are some of the worst in the world. If you Google Lurigancho prison, you will find a video called "Inside" on the National Geographic website.

  • If he goes to Lurigancho prison in Lima, he won't live long unless his family can bribe the right people to keep him alive and fed. Lurigancho is one of the worst prisons in the world, filthy, full of people with AIDS and TB, and there are no guards inside.

  • I've been on food stamps before, when newly divorced and very poor. With two kids and no money from the ex, it was really hard to make the money stretch. I found the food stamp program to be a real lifesaver.
